VinUnic – a success story

VinUnic was founded in 1992 when wine enthusiast Claes Lindquist decided to leave his job to focus on wine full-time. Claes is still today one of the owners of the company and greatly involved in the business. Fine Wine was the focus from the beginning and the first producer to give VinUnic a contract, E. Guigal, had never sold a bottle of wine in Sweden. However, after the first meeting with VinUnic, Systembolaget placed and order for five different products - a whole truckload of wine!

A phone call from Aubert de Villaine to a very pleased Marcel Guigal gave VinUnic the next contract with DRC. A few days later Claes closed the deal with top producer nr. 3: Zind-Humbrecht.
More prestigious producers were to follow: Louis Jadot, Gaja, Sassicaia, Ridge, Taylor's, Royal Tokaji Wine Company...and more than 20 years later VinUnic still represent these world class names.
In 1997 Stefan Stjärnström became partner in VinUnic and the growth started for real! He quickly managed to win several important listings and to date Sweden is the largest export market for Kleine Zalze, Mulderbosch and Cline Cellars.

Today VinUnic is one of the largest wine importers in Sweden – still with a fine wine focus but now expanded to include commercial wines in the portfolio. The motto from the start still stands unaltered: Quality at any price!
